“They are an amazing construction company. They gutted and redesigned my entire kitchen, created an island, opened up the space to the living room and the entire front of the house. My house looks completely different and much, much more inviting. They make great suggestions. They stayed within the budget and even gave more than what was originally discussed for the price. They have an awesome team, and they are reasonably priced AND ON TIME with the schedule. And, they were always available to discuss any questions, and so on. I will not go anywhere else for my construction needs.”

Painting in Woodland Hills
Interior and exterior painting with coatings specified for Valley sun, heat and stucco.
Free ConsultationPaint in the San Fernando Valley faces one dominant enemy: sun. The UV load here is high and the summers are long, and it shows on south and west elevations years before the rest of the house.
Which is why exterior paintwork here tends to fade and chalk rather than peel. Preparation and pigment quality decide how long it holds, far more than the number of coats.

How it works
Our process
-
Assessment
What the existing finish is doing - chalking, fading, cracking - because the failure mode tells you what the surface needs.
-
Preparation
Washing, scraping, crack repair and patching. This is where durability comes from.
-
Priming
Primer and sealer matched to the substrate, particularly on stucco.
-
Application
Applied at specified thickness in suitable conditions - not in the middle of a Valley afternoon in August.
-
Inspection
Walked and reviewed against a snag list before handover.

What this means in Woodland Hills
Colour choice has consequences here that it does not have in milder places. Deep and saturated colours fade noticeably faster under Valley UV, and dark exteriors absorb heat that ends up in your cooling bill. It is worth choosing pigments rated for fade resistance rather than matching a swatch seen indoors.
Stucco is the dominant exterior substrate and it moves. Hairline cracking is normal; painting over it without repair simply hides a route for winter rain, which then lifts the coating from behind. Crack repair and the right sealer are the difference between a finish that lasts and one that fails in two seasons.
Timing is a real constraint. Applying coatings to a surface at high temperature in direct summer sun compromises cure and adhesion whatever the product claims, so exterior work gets scheduled around the day rather than pushed through it.
Questions
Frequently asked
How often will exteriors need repainting here?
Sooner than in a mild climate, and it varies enormously by elevation - a west-facing wall weathers far faster than a shaded north one. Preparation and pigment quality affect that interval more than anything else.
Will a dark colour cost me more in cooling?
Measurably, on sun-exposed elevations. It is a legitimate aesthetic choice, but worth making with the trade-off in view.
Do you repair stucco cracks before painting?
Yes, and we would not quote a job that skipped it. Painting over cracked stucco is the most common reason exterior work here fails early.
