“We met with a few contractors and were very happy we went with TerraVenti. We had a great experience on a major extension and renovation of our house which included extending our master bedroom into the yard and renovating 3 bathrooms. Throughout the process, they were always available at a moments notice, incredibly reliable and communicated clearly. It can be a long and stressful process, but they were always there checking in each step of the way to make sure we were happy with the progress and the end result turned out beautifully.”

A burst supply line does not announce itself. It runs behind a wall, under a slab or inside a cabinet, and by the time anyone notices, the damage is already done. The Moen Flo Smart Water Monitor and Shutoff sits on your main cold water line and watches pressure and flow continuously, detecting leaks as small as a drop per minute and shutting the water off automatically when something is wrong.
It is a plumbing installation, not a gadget you plug in. The device is fitted in line, which means cutting into and removing a section of your main water pipe - Moen themselves recommend using a professional. We install and commission it as part of a remodel or as a standalone job.

How it works
Our process
-
Survey
We locate where the main cold line enters - typically a garage, utility space or exterior wall - and confirm pipe diameter, clearance, power and Wi-Fi coverage at that point.
-
Isolation and cut-in
Water is isolated at the main and a section of pipe removed so the unit can be fitted in line, downstream of the meter, shutoff and any pressure regulating valve.
-
Installation
The device is fitted, connections made and pressure-tested, and the supply restored and checked for leaks at every joint.
-
Commissioning
We connect the unit to Wi-Fi, set up the app on your phone, and run the automatic shutoff so you have seen it work before we leave.
-
Handover
We walk you through alerts, the daily microleak test and how to shut off or restore water from the app while you are away.

What this means in Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale is close to a worst case for undetected leaks. A great many properties here are second homes or seasonal, standing empty for months - and an empty house is exactly where a failed supply line does the most damage, because nobody is there to hear it. Being able to see your water usage, and shut the supply off from your phone from anywhere, is the practical answer to that.
The local housing stock adds to it. Mid-century properties around Fort Lauderdale often still carry original galvanised supply pipe, and slab-routed plumbing means a leak can run a long time before it surfaces. Humidity masks the early signs that would give a leak away in a drier climate.
One thing to be clear about, because it matters here: this device protects against water escaping from your pipes, fixtures and appliances. It does not protect against flooding from outside - storm surge, heavy rain or a roof leak are different problems and need different measures. Moen's separate Flo Detectors can sense moisture from those sources and alert you, but the shutoff itself acts on your supply line only. We would rather you hear that from us than discover it after a storm.
Questions
Frequently asked
Can I install the Moen Flo myself?
Moen recommend a professional, and for good reason: the unit is fitted in line on your main cold water supply, which means isolating the main and removing a section of pipe. It is not a plug-in device. Getting the position wrong - ahead of the meter or the pressure regulating valve rather than after it - stops it working correctly.
Does it still work if the Wi-Fi drops?
Yes. Wi-Fi is needed for full functionality and for alerts, and the unit runs on 2.4 GHz rather than 5 GHz. If the connection goes down, Moen state the device stores its recent learnings locally and carries on protecting the property until Wi-Fi comes back.
Will it protect my home from hurricane flooding?
No, and it is important to be straightforward about that. The shutoff acts on water coming through your own supply line. Flooding from heavy rain, storm surge or a roof leak is outside what it can control. Moen's Flo Detectors can be placed to sense moisture from those sources and alert you, but that is detection, not prevention.
Can you fit it during a remodel?
That is the ideal time. If we already have the main line exposed during a whole-home remodel or a repipe, fitting the unit is straightforward and there is no second disruption later.
