What this means in Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale is close to a worst case for undetected leaks. A great many properties here are second homes or seasonal, standing empty for months - and an empty house is exactly where a failed supply line does the most damage, because nobody is there to hear it. Being able to see your water usage, and shut the supply off from your phone from anywhere, is the practical answer to that.
