The kitchen is the most demanding room in a house to remodel. It carries plumbing, electrical, gas, ventilation and heavy appliances, it usually sits at the centre of the floor plan, and it is the room a household cannot easily do without. Doing it well is as much about sequencing as it is about design.

We remodel kitchens across Fort Lauderdale, from finish-level refits to full structural reconfiguration where walls come out and the room changes shape entirely.

How it works

Our process

  1. Design and selections

Layout, cabinetry, stone and appliances agreed up front, with long-lead items ordered before demolition so the schedule is not held hostage to a delivery date.

  2. Permitting

Structural changes and relocated plumbing or electrical are permitted through the local authority before work starts.

  3. Demolition and rough-in

Strip out, structural work, then plumbing, electrical and ventilation rough-in, with inspections booked in sequence.

  4. Installation

Cabinetry set and levelled, stone templated and fitted, appliances installed and commissioned.

  5. Finish and handover

Backsplash, paint, hardware, snag list and a working kitchen.

What this means in Fort Lauderdale

Two things shape Fort Lauderdale kitchens more than anything else. The first is the pull toward indoor-outdoor living: opening a kitchen to a terrace or pool deck is one of the most requested changes we handle, and it is a structural job. Any new or widened opening in an exterior wall needs engineering, and the glazing must carry an HVHZ-rated impact assembly.

The second is humidity. Air-conditioned interiors running against heavy outdoor moisture put real stress on cabinetry, so box construction and finish choice matter more here than in a dry climate. Ventilation also has to be done properly: a powerful hood without adequate make-up air will fight a tightly sealed house rather than exhaust it.

Questions

Frequently asked

How long will I be without a kitchen?

It depends entirely on scope - a finish-level refit and a structural reconfiguration are different projects. The variable we control is ordering long-lead cabinetry and stone before demolition, so the room is not sitting stripped waiting on a delivery. We give you a realistic schedule before starting.

Can I remove the wall between kitchen and living room?

Often yes, but if it is load-bearing it needs an engineered beam, structural drawings and a permit. We establish what the wall is actually doing before promising anything.

Do you need a permit for a kitchen remodel?

Cosmetic replacement in the same footprint may not. Moving plumbing or electrical, altering structure or changing the footprint does. We handle the permitting either way.

Testimonials

Happy Clients

★★★★★

“We met with a few contractors and were very happy we went with TerraVenti. We had a great experience on a major extension and renovation of our house which included extending our master bedroom into the yard and renovating 3 bathrooms. Throughout the process, they were always available at a moments notice, incredibly reliable and communicated clearly. It can be a long and stressful process, but they were always there checking in each step of the way to make sure we were happy with the progress and the end result turned out beautifully.”
